The election of Donald Trump marked a clear rejection of the establishment republican party. None of their favored candidates would have had a chance of defeating Hillary Clinton, any more than John McCain or Mitt Romney did of prevailing. Nevertheless, congressional republicans made it their job to block the signature initiatives of Trump and forced him, using the threat of Mueller as leverage, to go along with more of their same old corporatist crap. Trump won because he energized working class voters in the Midwest who typically voted the union label or just skipped voting altogether as a waste of time. So what did republicans do to solidify their hold on this important new bloc? Why, they did what they always have done. Tax cuts for billionaires, more defense spending and desperately trying to start new wars in Syria and Iran. Oh yeah, Trump moved the embassy in Israel, a real vote getter for coal miners and steelworkers. But that will bump his total of the jewish vote in NY and California to 4% from 1 %, so mission accomplished. And we got more of their pathetic virtue signaling. John McCain's legacy of backstabbing other republicans is being carried on proudly by Mitt Romney. They tried to ruin the one guy in the congress who was concerned about the invasion of our country by illegal aliens, Steve King. At the same time, they seemed genuinely puzzled as to why formerly reliable red states like Florida, Georgia, Texas and Arizona are suddenly in play. Hint: look at what happened in California, which once elected Ronald Reagan governor. Rather than address the obvious reason, immigration, they are actually trotting out their tired hamburgers versus socialism argument. Good luck with that guys, seriously. But back in the real world, actual citizens who do not get the free health care given illegals are struggling with their medical insurance bills and paying outrageous college tuitions. What do they have on that? Nothing, that's what. The UK faced a similar problem of wilfull pols determined to backstab their voters. Brexit was just the tip fo the iceberg but it was a pretty big tip and not one that could be swept under the rug like muslim rape gangs have been. A group of doughty Brits, led by Nigel Farage (is there some way he could be appointed our Sec. of State?) formed a new party and overnight destroyed the Tories.
Nigel Farage has led the Brexit Party to victory while the establishment parties are left assessing the damage after their historic losses, with the Brexiteer declaring: “This is just the beginning.” With almost all regions counted, the Brexit Party is in the clear lead after winning around one-third of the vote and projected to have gained 29 seats. In a distant second, the pro-Remain Liberal Democrats won 15 seats, while the new Change UK (CUK), established solely to stop Brexit, failed to gain a single seat. “Never before in British politics has a party just 6 weeks old won a national election,” Mr Farage posted to Twitter Monday morning. “If Britain does not leave the EU on October 31st, these results will be repeated at a general election. “History has been made. This is just the beginning.” Media reports that the Tories suffered their worst election result in two centuries, dropping to just nine per cent of the vote and winning only four seats — losing 15 — while the Labour Party is said to have had its worst election result in 100 years, halving its presence in the European Parliament from 20 to just ten seats. Speaking to Good Morning Britain on Monday morning, Mr Farage warned that the establishment political parties will suffer in the next General Election, scheduled for 2021, if they fail to take the UK out of the EU by October 31st, saying: “That date will become a bigger factor in peoples’ minds as these five months go by. If we don’t leave on the 31st of October, then the Brexit Party will go on to a General Election and stun everybody there, too.” The Brexit Party leader later told the BBC that his party would be ready for even an October snap General Election, saying that it “might not be easy, but that work starts this afternoon.” Recent polling of Westminster voting intentions point to the Brexit Party being ahead of the Conservative Party and just two points away from taking the lead over Labour. Next month, the Brexit Party is challenging the establishment parties in the Peterborough by-election after the former Labour MP Fiona Onasanya was unseated following a recall petition. After winning, according to provisional results, 29 seats in the European Parliament, the Brexit Party could find itself gain its first seat in the British House of Parliament, the next step in Mr Farage’s challenge to the two-party system, bringing about a “peaceful revolution” in British politics. https://www.breitbart.com/europe/20...ry-made-brexit-party-takes-lead-eu-elections/
Of course the corrupt pols here have done their best to make it impossible to mount a third party challenge. No one thought Trump would win either or that the Brexit party would prevail in the UK. At the least a third party challenge could take down some of the worst of the republican sellouts and get Trump's attention. But that might mean a dem would get elected, people will scream. Possibly and it is possibly too late to rescue our country but what is the alternative?
Not to worry if some party or person who is not pre-approved to win your swampbuddies will just put a plan in place. Assuming they are not still in prison or working down at Arby's.
The famous economist Milton Friedman once observed that you can have a welfare state or you can have open borders, but you can't have both. We are seeing the truth of that played out in the US and Europe. AAA's corollary to that is that you can have a Free Exercise clause of the First Amendment or you can allow uncontrolled muslim immigration, but you can't have both.
