The election was a record low in voters that came out to vote but I don't remember the percentage of votes she received. With that said, statistically with most elections...low voter turnout favors the right. In contrast, high voter turnout tends to favor the left. The issue is those other parties and how much they take away from the left or the right. I find it odd that some celebrate her political stance without knowing anything about her personal lifestyle that's deeply embedded with issues on the left. Yet, some of the issues she ran on or against...I didn't know they were issues in Italy (e.g. abortion, euthanasia et cetera) because I thought these were issues not popular on both the left and the right. Italy could possibly alienate itself from France, Germany, Spain, and the European Union (EU) to become closer to more far-right countries that are struggling like Hungary and Poland...the latter two countries that Italy is less dependent upon for trade et cetera. Yet, if Italy gets itself into deep shit...France, Germany, Spain, and the European Union (EU) will not abandon Italy because they'll just wait it out until the next election...wait for a higher voter turnout. wrbtrader

Italy and all the other European Union countries have bigger worries with dramatic rising inflation, cost of living, pending recession, and the fallout because of the Ukraine/Russia war. After that, everything else goes back to the way it was before but more money will be needed to recover after making promises to not use money. wrbtrader
