The number of lynchings in the South...occurred most frequently in areas with large concentrations of blacks, dominated politically by Democrats

White Democrats regained control of State Legislatures in 1876 and a national compromise on the presidential election resulted in the removal of federal troops

From 1882 to 1968, "...nearly 200 anti-lynching bills were introduced in Congress, and three passed the House. Seven presidents between 1890 and 1952 petitioned Congress to pass a federal law."
[6] In 1920 the Republican Party promised at its national convention to support passage of such a law

In the Deep South, the number of lynchings was higher in areas with a concentration of blacks in an area (such as a county), dependent on cotton and at a time of low cotton prices, rising inflation, a predominance of Democrats, and competition among religious groups. and the economy went down.

The first severe period of violence in the South was between 1868 and 1871.
White Democrats attacked black and white Republicans.

From the mid-1870s on violence rose as insurgent paramilitary groups in the Deep South worked to suppress black voting and turn Republicans out of office. In Louisiana, the Carolinas and Florida especially, the
Democratic Party relied on paramilitary "White Line" groups, such as the White Camelia, White League and Red Shirts to terrorize, intimidate and assassinate African American and white Republicans in an organized drive to regain power.

    In Louisiana, the
White League had numerous chapters; they carried out goals of the Democratic Party to suppress black voting

    Once
Democrats regained power in Mississippi, Democrats in other states adopted the Mississippi Plan to control the election of 1876, using informal armed militias to assassinate political leaders, hunt down community members, intimidate and turn away voters, and effectively suppress African American suffrage and civil rights. In state after state, Democrats swept back to power.[19] From 1868 to 1876, there were 50–100 lynchings annually.

You push an article that that only shows three examples over 80 years, while claiming "spectacular lynchings" happened t thousands of people in the U.S. South - an assertion that even the SPLC disagreed with.

For a modern example of a country where many people were ritually burned alive, we only have to go to the county of South Africa and the practice of "necklacing" - where the victim had a tire put around their neck and set on fire. There are thousands of documented victims of necklacing in the country of Nelson Mandela - most of the necklacing done by people of Mandela's own party.

While we are at it.... it appears that you have not read your history homework and are still making assertions that western nations brought terrorism on ourselves for what they have done in the Middle East ... let's take a look at the reality.

DB is always demanding that people "read your history"...

Well here is the history.... For centuries the Ottoman Empire (1300 - 1923) occupied most of central Europe and oppressed the Christians. The Ottoman Muslims killed millions of Christians in Europe over a span of centuries while subjecting all Christians to brutal treatment.

In contrast the "Europeans" (by which DB means the Brits and French) didn't carve the Middle East until after WW1.

You can simply view it as the expected response in the 20th century after the brutal Muslim occupation of Europe and killing of Christians for centuries.

Let's have a moment of silence for the over 50 million Christian victims of the Muslim Ottoman Empire. During 1894-1923 the Ottoman Empire conducted a policy of Genocide of the Christian population living within its extensive territory.

Yet somehow DB and other liberals believe we brought terrorism on ourselves (and deserve it) for our treatment of Muslims in the Middle East. I think not!

And now the situation is reversed. Unless you believe the members of, e.g. Stormfront voted for Obama because he's a "democrat". : )

Actually the issue is not Democrats vs Republicans but what was done by Americans. There's really no getting away from that. That other peoples engaged in the same sort of behavior does not make it okay.

But, if we're criticizing Obama for destabilizing the ME, then of course we know that American actions there will provoke hostile action, including terrorism, against the US.

But the centuries of Muslims from the Middle East invading Christian countries and killing over 50 Million Christians should just be accepted.... and the hostile response from Europe and America in the past few years should not have been expected after centuries of Islamic brutality, eh?

That period followed the Crusades. And before that... I won't look them up, but these superstitions have been battling each other since the time their prophets arrived. Yes, today, it's extremists spouting Islam phrases for an excuse.

You do realize the Crusades were started due to the continual attacks by Muslims on Christians from 1025 to 1095. The Crusades began in 1095, when armies of Christians from Western Europe responded to Pope Urban II’s plea to go to war against Muslim forces in the Holy Land. This call was driven by the continued Muslim attacks on the Christian Byzantine Empire centered on Constantinople of which Battle of Manzikert in 1071 was a decisive defeat of the Byzantine army including the capture of Emperor Romanos IV Diogenes by the Muslim Turks.

Actually, the archaeological evidence shows these tribes were battling each other for millenia before any of their monotheistic prophets arrived. I was wrong to say it began with their prophets.
