Is there a way to put a "Ignore" or "Block" Trolls from our Posts?

Discussion in 'Feedback' started by RabidTrader, Oct 8, 2015.

  1. My equity is up greatly this year, I don't want any Satanic Trolls having access to my posts because if they made any cash off me or the other posters comments it's not right.

Can you create a function that allows people to limit who can see their posts? After watching one of the posters gets hammered on the IBKR thread, its obvious we need to control who see's what we post!

This was already discuss heavily in the Feedback section many months ago.

Baron (ET owner) made a promise he would create a way for thread starters to moderate their own threads so that they have the option of preventing those on their ignore list from participating in their threads and/or have the ability to "moderate" new trolls that show up to harass others that are posting in the thread.

I myself and many others are waiting for that feature to occur...it will encourage traders to post content that's helpful to others while at the same time giving members the ability to manage their own threads.

Simply, you should contact Baron directly and remind him of his promise...many members are still waiting.

I personally know about 8 members here that do not post and waiting for that feature so that they'll be able to post about topics like risk management, day trading diversification, psychology of trading, price action trading and hot wives of day traders.

Last one above is a joke. :D

P.S. The new ignore feature works well. I highly recommend it now and I've been using it a lot lately. It took Baron several years to finally get that thing working right. I wouldn't be surprise it takes him awhile to setup the "self-moderating" feature.

  4. There's a poser that attacked a very successful Hedge Fund poster we had visit, he successfully chased away someone who was sharing great calls. After reviewing the Demon who chased away the Hedge Fund Owner's comments, I noticed the Troll never, not ever posted any Binary, Futures, Option or Stock Calls. The Troll has attacked many of the posters on Elite, attacks the Vendors, attacks anyone who he fear's might be making money because he's a Hoodoo!

The Trolls job is to attack all the members that do not agree or bow in awe of his angry-bitter-vitriolic postings. What did we gain in return? We lost one of the best smaller Hedge Fund ($500 million in assets) posters because of him, we got ripped off! Do posters like him bring enough value to Elite Community? As I wrote, after reading through the first 100 posts they had nothing of value, nothing good, just bashing and rage. My friend in Florida had a friend at a Day Trading Shop in the South who acted the same way, remember what happened when the Day Trader went nuts in that shop? Their angry, bitter because many on Elite are happily making money while their losing cash consistently, all I know is we got ripped off!

Elite really got rolled over by having someone real chased away by a Janitor posing as a Trader. I saw the photo of his mop and broom next to a computer desk, Oh Boy I am impressed!

Edited to remove profanity or bad language, I apologize and will not use it in future posts.

That's the problem and you just created.

As soon as you start using profanity and if management looks into it to see if you even complained to them once about a problematic member...if they see you did not complain one time to them via hitting that "report" button to send a complaint and then choose instead to post a profanity lace message...

It attracts the wrong type of crowd. Too bad you had to post like that to dirty up the request reminder to Baron because he doesn't like messages like that. :(

P.S. I wish ET management would change the name of the "report" button to "complaint" button. I was surprise recently by several members that didn't know the report button is the complaint button.

The hope would be that that feature would never be implemented as it would quash more meaningful discussions than it would create. Folks need to not be so sensitive. That would be a great start. What you will find is that dissenting opinion will be removed from discussion. What would be better is to just have those folks that want to regulate posters, open private threads since that's what the request for the feature is aimed at doing anyway.

Yeah but only due to the lack of moderating and superficial warnings instead of bans that last long enough for the offending member to understand its not tolerated.

Some folks call it censorship but the reality is that they can start their own threads and troll as often as they want in their own threads. :D

  9. How about providing links to these "problem" posts? Let us judge them ourselves.
