Is there a tool for comparing P/L for stock vs option on a single chart?

  1. I created this spreadsheet because AFAIK thinkorswim does not let you graph multiple positions on separate line in a single chart. Couldn't find one online either.

There is probably a tool out there but I just can't find it. Anyway, here's my attempt:

    Well done.
But there is a minor typo in the text under Instructions: dedired cost --> desired cost

  3. I'd rather hear: "But there is a way better tool for free download at xyz.com"!

Options tools are not easy to program, requires much grey matter between the ears :)
So, every help and attempt is welcome. Thx.

  5. This seems like such an obvious tool (of course there are many, many other ones) perhaps I'll turn it into a web app and put it online. Will think about it.

  6. You can create a risk profile chart like that just using Google sheets. I got one myself but I haven't made it for multiple stocks (options) but it does single stocks but only at expiry unless you're going to use actual live data.

  7. That was done in GS and does any number of comparisons. It was so easy to do I don't know why TOS does have checkboxes or something next to each position. You could compare different trades or even sets of trades in the same chart. Anyway, I'll keep building out my DIY version until I find a commercial offering.

    Thanks for the input!

  9. Nice. Your work? Can you place multiple trades on the same chart?

Also, any ideas on how I can get pricing data in a copy/paste or import way rather than typing manually?

  10. Thanks! Yes...well I saw it done on yt and made my own version. It's better for just one strategy...would get complicated at least I don't want to put the time in. Yours looks like it would be better for multiple.

    Yes, use barchart excel addon.
