Is the DOM in Thinkorswim complete with all the order books?

I’ve heard that the DOM in ToS is incomplete, and that it does not show all of the orders from every exchange. If this is true, what is missing from it, and is there any brokers or platforms that offer a more complete DOM?

  2. Of all the things a trader might consider, this is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the priority list of importance.

To each their own. It’s something I use though that allows me to be profitable. Would like to get the most out of it. Maybe if you don’t like the question or don’t find it important u could just move on to the next one instead of being a cheeky c*nt by downplaying my question for everyone else that sees it? Rude

  4. You're right. I apologize.

I could, of course, let every vacuous comment and question go unanswered/challenged... but I believe I'm doing a good thing when I point out the stupidity of some things so that others aren't tempted to waste time on them.

    Sorry.

One mans trash is another mans treasure. I trade order flow and would like to see all of the orders, not some. I fail to see the stupidity of it but I suppose this is a classic event of you can’t play chess with a pigeon.

  6. So... number of contracts bid/offered more than 10 prices away from current bid/ask is useful somehow? Like you somehow get paid for knowing the liquidity "way down the DOM"?

(And watch what you say about pigeons... I'm sure mine could checkmate the CRAP out of your pigeon!)

Hes not talking about price levels, he’s talking about the aggregate of the exchanges.

Are they showing arca, nasdaq, bats, etc. They may not be showing all the exchanges so size isn’t really shown.

I’d think TOS be the best to answer the question.

  8. I understand his question... but I don't see it as relevant to any trade one might make. I know... there could be a much larger aggregate on the bid size or the ask size, but that isn't necessarily maintained for a few reasons. Information not worth knowing unless you're trading such size that your play is going to mop up the contracts for several prices.

TOS only showing top of the books. So BBO for NASDAQ, NYSE, etc. Now suppose you have below situation:

    NASDAQ BestBid : 10.00 x 100

    NYSE BestBid : 9.00 X 100

let’s say next Bid level on NASDAQ is 9.50x1000 you will not see that because it’s not top of its book.

DAS trader has full depth of what I believe is of good quality(fast). Keep in mind that the slower the DOM, the less useful it’s.
