Reading an article on swing trading recently, it seemed to me to be similar to trend following. Can anyone explain the difference?
you can trade trends , or not trade trends on any timeframe....? Swing trading just refers to higher timeframes holding for (for me ) 3-10 days at a time.
how long is a piece of string? so is a 10 day trend trade a swing trade? What about 15,20,50,100? If you allow a trailing stop to exit your trade as oppsoed to a target stop you are trend trading..I.M.O.
Swing trading just means shorter duration, like a few days to a few weeks-ish. You can swing trade trend following, or you can swing trade counter trend. "Swing trading," "day trading," "long term/investing," those terms only refer to the length of time the position is held.
