I've always wanted to open a FX account and never have. In past years I've always seen Oanda at the top of the list when I've google searched best FX brokers. But this time around I'm not seeing them nearly as much. Have they slipped or has the competition become better? Any clear better firm than Oanda to go with for a U.S. based person these days?
They pulled back on affiliate marketing and sponsorships... So bloggers--who have no clue how to trade--aren't putting Oanda in "top 10" lists as much anymore.
Don't!! It's not worth it. Better to save these capital to trade assets where there are central exchanges at least.
the best broker is a broker which always ensure security of funds with a wide range of trading technologies.
I have used Oanda everyday for over 20 years. There was a time when they were the absolute best, they still have that potential, but with the new management and retirement of the original developers, it has gone down hill. Even with all the flaws, errors and lack of maintenance it's still a top platform (desktop or app) especially since one can fine tune position size down to units or dollar amounts. But it's pretty pathetic when links and tabs haven't work or go to dead end pages for years and these are tabs from there most used platform. No excuse for this, management has to be complete dirt bags who only care about turning over a dollar from fees. I bet they fired 75% of their developers. Olsen and Strumm probably regret letting it out of their control. Totally sad. Edit... and I am not saying that because I am having a bad day, am having a great day. Here are my current positions for the week opened earlier today.
Any broker needs to be tested in practice. For example, you may like the trading conditions, but you may not like the speed of profit withdrawal. Therefore, you need to personally check all the conditions of any broker and choose the most optimal one for you. For example, I liked fxopen, I am satisfied with its trading conditions, the size of spreads and the speed of profit withdrawal.
