  1. Hi. Is it worth trading the week of Christmas & New Years? Is the market dead or can it still be traded?

it can always be traded. except when it's closed.

  3. Anyone rushing to trade this no volume HFT slop is either chasing returns for a poor year or has nothing better to do.

  4. best single day I ever had in soybeans was the Friday after Thanksgiving

and I was at the mall shopping with my wife when I took the profit

wouldn't want to build a strategy based on trading thin days

    but you never know

main thing is, if you have something on, knowing what you will do on a thin day if it moves against you

most of the time, after the holidays, everything ends up about where it started

lots of dislocations during the holidays and a discrete event (year end) that causes many to trade without profit motive.

  6. good for the ES due to the santa rally

  7. :p

  8. Do they offer a money back guarantee if the nature of the posting is obvious?

  9. Back in the 90's and 00's pre HFT, holiday sessions were great opportunities. Now even if something is moving the volume is so awful it's not even worth it. You get size now and you're screwed.

FB TWTR and AAPL gave juicy setups today. I thought about sleeping in as well, then I saw apple gapped up big today so I logged in to see if it gave a set up. as Bieber says....never say never
