I did a random test, involving getting my account information and testing multiple "what-if" orders. All ran fine, I don't see any issue.
A couple weeks back IB sent a message thru TWS announcing a rolling schedule for changing the exchanges of several futures. Days later, needed to re-add several symbols to watchlists in TWS. Until that was done, and new symbol identifiers propagated to color-linked windows, charts were blank. Maybe what you see is similar.
IB down, starting about 4 am -- about 10 minutes ago. I'm trying to login again, but on attempt #7. All other internet services working, so would seem to be IB issue.
IB working again -- after 30-minute outage. For years, IB neither e-mails, saying problem with my login, or a general problem, on their "Status System" page. IB clearly knows -- after 25+ attempts to login -- that there are issues. It is either just lack of care for their customers, or pure lying, stating that all systems are working.
Nobody is lying. Systems take time to update. Just assume that there is a temporary glitch and the co. is working to fix it.
Sorry, lying by omission: IB knows at least part of system is down, but never in my 20+ years with IB, have they tried to notify indiv clients. Very rarely they post on their "System Update" page, but typically that takes an additional 1-2 hours.
