I will give you the direct quote from Howard Lutnick the Canter Fitzgerald CEO and Wall Street veteran. Today on CNBC: "I'm a big fan of this stablecoin called Tether...I hold their treasuries. So I keep their treasuries, and they have a lot of treasuries. They're over $90 billion now, so I'm a big fan of Tether." so either: 1 he is lying and risking jail time for absolutely no reason 2 telling the truth and tether owns over at 90 billion in US treasury despite what everyone on this forum says what say you to the truth truthers??
"I'm a big fan of this stablecoin called Tether...I hold their treasuries. So I keep their treasuries, and they have a lot of treasuries. They're over $90 billion now, so I'm a big fan of Tether." ________________________________________________ Truly truly I said unto you; He who says is a big fan of Tether has tons of Tether. He hopes more suckers would buy Tether. Truly truly I said unto you; Listen to the CEOs with your ears closed. And do your own analysis.
I don't even understand that quote. Their treasuries? Why not just own US treasuries directly? Or are the treasuries different? Great thing with crypto is you create a few billion tokens (rosybucks). Sell one for a dollar. Now you're a billionaire.
There is a conspiracy theory that the stablecoin tether is lying about the assets that back its stable coin. Some even say the “only” reason bitcoin has the value it does (800ish billion market cap currently) is because of tether and when tether is found to be unbacked then the whole crypto market will implode. Common evidence, if you would want to call it that, include no audit from a big four firm and one article from 2017. these people need to seek help.
By the way tethers liabilities (a.k.a. outstanding supply of tether) looks to be about 91 billion. to be clear that means they are 100% backed by US treasury bills!!!! They have other assets in excess of the bills as well. How can you deny this at this point??
Nope, you misread the quote. it is not even in one sentence and I think pretty obvious. What he is saying: 1. They hold treasuries for Tether. He doesn't say how many, just a lot. Could be 10B, 20B. 2. Tether's market cap is over 90 B. The 2 statements are probably true, but shouldn't be read as a single sentence.
what? He says they hold over 90 billion bills for tether at Canter and this is the Canter CEO. He literally says the amount
Ok I see what you mean. He *could* be referring to tethers market cap with that comment, but I read it as that’s how much bills they hold at cantor. either way, the tether truthers say that they’ve held nothing at Canter this whole time, so that is obviously disproven.
Nah read it again man. He is talking about the amount of bills they hold for tether. At least, that is how it reads You tell me what this means: “So I keep their treasuries, and they have a lot of treasuries. They're over $90 billion now” what does that mean to you?
