I've grown tired of centrists who continue to move to a shifting "center" as the country gets dragged far right, and Americans don't really seem to be impressed with Biden's policy positions regardless of what a few members here or the media says (see below). The problems I've had with centrist candidates is their unwillingness to stay true to their beliefs, always willing to "compromise"/capitulate to ever increasing right wing policies. Patriot Act, DHS/ICE, military spending, militarization of police and growing police state practices, corporatism/anti-trust protections etc... Righties will say, well, they also capitulate to the radical left on the "culture war issues" but I see these things as distractions that don't really have any meaningful impact. Doesn't bother me one bit if "the gays can adopt". So I've found it over the years in all honesty harder and harder to identify with the center as the it shifts from the center that I used to know was. I've said as much in the run up to the election, that the country had moved so far to the right that having someone to the polar opposite will be the only way to have meaningful movement towards the center. You hated America throughout the Trump presidency and then you stated the other day you still want to leave the country and go to Canada even if Biden is in office because - well, surprise, surprise, - you still hate America. You added in that the weather in Canada is a problem for you though- in true pussy style. The minute you arrive in Canada you will become an instant expert on all things Canadian. We got a quarter million people filing for unemployment every week, cars backed up for miles at food banks across the country, deaths and sickness approaching all time highs - this country is fucked up right now and now is not the time to be complaining about something that hasn’t even happened yet. Right now Biden represents a chance to pull this country out of a disaster - give the guy a chance.
He's infinitely better on COVID alone and giving Americans a fighting chance to recover. I doubt he'll make inroads into what Americans have lost economically future wise however.
