Iran's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York said the early Sunday attack was a response to Israeli "aggression against our diplomatic premises in Damascus." Israel earlier this month struck an Iranian building in the Syrian capital Damascus, with a military spokesperson saying Israel believed the Iranian building hit in the attack was a "military building." The Iranian mission said the matter was "deemed concluded." "However, should the Israeli regime make another mistake, Iran's response will be considerably more severe. It is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime, from which the U.S. MUST STAY AWAY!" Iran's Permanent Mission added in its statement on X.
I hear that missiles are flying from Iran, through Iraqi airspace, on their way to Israel. I thought, wow, this would be a great opportunity for Israel to let one of the missiles go through, if it is going to land on the Al-Aqsa mosque. Or,maybe Israel has a really smart missile they can launch at Iran that does a 180 degree turn and joins the missiles coming from Iran that then lands on the Al-Aqsa flood mosque. Who would know? How would anyone know? It would be a shame if any Iranian missiles hit the third most holy mosque in all of Mohammedism.
Israel will certainly retaliate very shortly. Iran attacking Israel directly -- instead of through its terrorist proxies; Hamas & Hezbollah -- basically is a declaration of war. This is the start of a regional conflict which is unlikely to go well for Iran. Keep in mind that all of Iran's Sunni neighbors are sick & tired of putting up with Iran as well. It appears the idea behind Iran's attack is to overwhelm Israel’s advanced defenses with cheap drones, to give its more sophisticated ballistic missiles which were launched to arrive later a better chance of hitting their targets. Iran's attack was not successful. Currently it appears that the drones, nor the follow-up missiles did any significant damage and nearly all were shot down. The only reported injury at this point is a 10 year old who was wounded by shrapnel from an air-defense missile.

Iran is looking very weak this morning. Israel was able to achieve exo-atmospheric defense capabilities, which is a first demonstration of such capabilities in human history. The question is what will Israel do in retaliation. Netanyahu has free range after a direct attack from Iran.
