Most of you probably know this, but I discovered it by chance. Through Spectrum Cable I have 300 Mbps connectivity hardlined into my desktop. Plenty of speed. While internet is down today I used my iPhone with my iPad to get around, using my iPhone for data feed (hotspot). The prompt opens in the phone asking if I wanna wireless/Bluetooth/USB. ...well I got to thinking... I plugged in the USB phone charger into an open port on the desktop and voila... what do know. It works like a charm. Running a bunch of programs and streaming Netflix for shits and giggles, and not a hiccup. Now I'm not suggesting to go cut the hardline, but in a pinch, it's nice to have a solid option. The connection was seamless. Running Win10 HP Pavilion desktop Verizon Unlimited (phone data) iPhone 6
Update: No glitches this morning during market open with same setup. This running IB and Advantage with all associated charts, quote boards, and DOMS. I must say I am impressed. Would've never thunkit. Speedtest ala Fast.com 1st pass: 71 Mbps 2nd pass: 60 Mbps 3rd pass: 72 YOUR mileage may vary
You really can use your Iphone or any other device to be setup like Wi-fi spot if that is what you asking for, is that it, correct ? So please do that and let's deal with that completely and totally. Your speed is like higher limit for 802.11n if I am not mistaken.
