Hi Baron, I wanted to bring to your attention this messaging application. Pivot360 allows you to specify trades on your messaging client which can be direct links to brokerage orders via FIX protocol. ie : " b IBM 100" becomes a clickable link on your message window to buy 100 IBM shares. It would be an interesting integration/collaboration for users of this forum. http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/cme-direct/pivot-instant-messaging.html
No. It is an independent company owned by the CME. CME has its own CME Direct Messenger for the trading firms and the OTC market. For that, you could set up to chat with people in your own trading firm or pony up 10+ million to be able to trade with OTC participants. And, product/order ticket/deal links are limited to CME products.
The competition now heats up. I'm going to do some research to see if any exchanges (e.g. Eurex) out of Europe are doing the same.
Eurex is interesting. Non-clearing membership only requires EUR 50,000 capital. Though I see no information about the cost of membership. Additionally, I have no idea of exchange platform fees.
