Interactive Brokers - prop side commissions?

Discussion in 'Prop Firms' started by MoreLeverage, Jul 15, 2014.

  1. I recall someone here mentioning that it was possible to have a relationship with the prop side of IB rather than the retail side, and that for this stock commissions were a (negotiated) flat cost per share rather than starting from the bottom tier each month like retail accounts do.

Does anyone use IB on their prop side? Does anyone have a contact I should talk to? I already do a lot of volume on the IB retail side but would be interested in a simpler, flat commission structure.

    Thanks.

  2. I'm not sure about if IB will negotiate a rate similar to prop. I do recall speaking with Speedtrader (retail broker) awhile back, and they mentioned a negotiated rate which was lower than retail, however they also required a Series 55 and Series 7 license.
