I am having real problems with TWS data feeds today - the system keeps freezing and reloading, playing catchup. Its plain to see as I have about 10 Fx, and futures tickers up and they all stop moving.
The clock on the TWS is still ticking along.
I have never had this before and its not been noticeable. I have closed down any charting programs etc to see if that was it, and the CPU etc is not overloaded.....
Internet seems to be working fine.
The IB TWS Market Data Connections seems to have a few disconnections.
Another data feed I have coming in appears to be moving when TWS freezes

So the obvious question before really looking into the internet connection - is it just me or others having this problem?
    thanks.

  2. mines been ok this morn on IB , whenever I have disconnections, it is usually due to my end.

Unplug cable modem and router for 30 seconds, Thren Plug back in cable modem first, wait 30 sec, then plug in router. Usually does the trick for me if my internet is going in/out.

Are you running a really old TWS version?
Completely log out and log back in, if you haven't done so.

Relatively new version of TWS Dec 2013 build, I have checked and unplugged the internet etc.
Run through the normal fixes, but thought I had best check with others.
It is likely to be a glitch with the router or the ISP - I hope it only lasts a day as its f...n annoying - as I said, this has never really happened before.

    thanks for the feedback

I'm running a much older TWS version, so you should be okay at December 2013.
    Indeed, may be your ISP.
I had trouble with my provider for several days a couple of weeks ago.

  8. I had numerous disconnects also. Nothing wrong at my end because I had 2 other data feeds connected at the same time which did not drop even once, and I'm running a new version of TWS.

That said, when we talk ISP we tend to overlook the internet backbone which might not be the same for me connecting from Asia as it might be someone East Coast which again might be different from West Coast or wherever.

    justtrading - thanks.
Its happening again today and it definitely seems to be more noticeable in TWS. The other data feed I have coming in is ticking along while TWS freezes.
However - there are times both freeze, and given the TWS is probably downloading more data there is probably simply a time lag between the 2 programs.
All in all its probably the ISP locally here, and its just fricken annoying (and today it was costly - mainly my own stupid fault)
