I am new to options trading and please someone explain to me simply for example if spx 500 at the price 4200 how much should I pay for option contract with strike 4400 how I calculate the profit and losses in that case
Maybe you should start at the beginning, like Google. But since you are here, check this: https://www.optionseducation.org/
I would start with US equity options. SPY option chain https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/SPY/options?p=SPY
Thank you for your contribution but I didn't find the premium of spx I am interested only on that index so any one can explain to me what the premium would be for contract and the potential profit or loss I can understand basics
Hence the reason I recommended US Equity options, such as SPY. Very easy to get quotes, and visualize potential profits and loss If a product is so difficult to figure out the quotes - such as options on futures - I would avoid them.
Ok if u don't mind can you explain more after I followed your link to get quotes I pressed the contract link then the information in the attached appeared to me so let me ask some questions 150 is the ask price for 100 shares ? How do I calculate the profit and losses in case the contract in the money or out of the m
