With the out of control violent crime in our inner cities now spreading into working class and upper class communities, is the economy starting to suffer? People are afraid to shop, go to bars and restaurants, and tourism is starting to take a hit. Law enforcement really needs to come down hard on these entitled thugs or else the economy is really going to take a hit..The exact cost of these violent thugs is hard to quantify but its a large price tag and not to mention all the human suffering they cause. I just saw a video where a bunch of twenty something women were randomly attacking people in New Yorks subway and a bus.. Even some women are becoming violent. America is turning into a third world country.. wtf !!!
When you take a society and pump everything up on zero interest money, you get some ridiculous outcomes. The 'income segregation model' of housing in the US is a failure. The real problem is people are too greedy to solve the affordability crisis. Too much special interests, regulatory capture, corruption, and graft. What the fuck is this country thinking, allowing households to borrow against multiple income streams, without any kind of limits on minimum square footage? Then you add in the government agency/mortgage guarantee/ZIRP/QE itemized deduction bullshit on top of that, abolish down payments (Hmm, why not borrow the down payment as well (let's just pretend we are doing a down payment -- 3%), and you get a complete hellscape where nobody can even buy a condo because the prices are ridiculous. Having a one-size-fits all (aggressively manipulated) home finance model is beyond stupid.
Weaponizing the buying power of those married-filing jointly, with interest rate subsidy, tax credits, deductions, and even having a GOVERNMENT AGENCY produce the down payable funds is in fact socialism. This is market manipulation writ large. This entire framework is inflationary and designed to increase the RE bubble indefinitely.
" ....... is the economy starting to suffer?" Meanwhile reality gets in the way - a record amount of Black Friday shopping done this year.
Because the idea of "outer country thugs" seems like the KKK, which are the opposite of the inner city thugs, according to Innervoice. And we all know who he aligns with.
I must say, in all my years, I've never heard a conference call where the ceo blames a large percentage of their earnings shortfall on theft. I've heard them use the weather, shortened holiday shopping hours, the calendar day a holiday falls on, but I have never heard theft being used by a multi-national retailer for an earnings shortfall. Brian Cornell from last week's Target conference call: "In addition, like the rest of the industry, we're facing a growing financial headwind from shortage, which is running hundreds of millions of dollars higher than a year ago. Along with other retailers, we've seen a significant increase in theft and organized retail crime across our business."
