    Indian lockdown

India had one of the world's strictest COVID-19 lockdowns, sacrificing its economy to save lives. But now it has its deepest recession in decades, plus the world's fastest-growing coronavirus case count. Fortune's Grady McGregor and Naomi Xu Elegant explain the situation. Fortune

  2. With the Covid being "politicized"... we don't know who is telling the truth or lying to promote their agenda. Therefore, we don't know the "real" status as of now.

The world has seen pandemics before. There is no common sense precaution for Covid that is unreasonable until we know more.

    :(

Plus we don't know how many lives that infamous lockdown has killed. Accounts of it were catastrophic from the beginning.

Lockdowns are only good for a quick, temporary relief. Unless you are an island and can stay isolated, eventually the virus will get you. Mask + soc. distancing do the job mostly, unless you have 1 billion people crowded into big cities.

"Meanwhile, hotels, restaurants and clubs in Delhi have been permitted to serve liquor from September 9 on a trial basis till September 30. The Delhi government has also issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the functioning of these bars. The move comes as part of unlock 4. States like West Bengal, Goa, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu have already reopened bars and pubs, after keeping them closed for more than five months."

No bars for 5 months!!! There will be a PARTY!!!!

Lockdown has halted deaths @1000 per day area, no way India near herd, 1.366Billion population, so 0.06% which is typical deaths wise gets them 800K.

But for Context, there is approx cause I can't see good data easily 16Million deaths per year in India.

As Pekelo quite rightly says, it's only a slow down to help hospitals demand wise, long term everyone is getting it and if it's going to kill you it's going to kill you, that's the fact, accept and move on.

UK only doing limited restrictions so far, can't visit friends / family in some areas, very very few people are paying attention to any of this and still no 2nd wave, strange that LOL

But you can go to the Pub with strangers, this poor logic is why nobody cares and averaging 8deaths per day, Flu is already 6x's that number.

UK real Covid deaths 20k-30K max, 94% of the deaths are terminal and end stage, so basically ignore them, there merely dying with and 60K total extra deaths so 30-40K excess deaths caused by the lockdown.

Food Bank usage is up 500%, how long before banks start repossessing houses on mass then 100K+ families, jobless, homeless and starving :(

Know a 21year old girl, cancer, beating it, treatment got put on hold 4 months later it had spread and died, more of these than Covid deaths in the under 60's :(

STUPID YEAR, Lefties trying to do the right thing, but unable to grasp the downsides to there do gooding has done 100x's the damage.
