Independence Day 2 - What a stupid movie!

Discussion in 'Music, Movies and TV' started by earth_imperator, Sep 23, 2022.

  1. I saw both part 1 and part 2 of the movie Independence Day years ago.
Had no positive nor negative rememberances to it, ie. had already forgotten them b/c they were not that impressive for me..
The day before I watched part 1 again, was ok.
And yesterday watched part 2 again, but couldn't finish it. What a crap! What a stupid dialogs! What an underperformance by the actors. Oh, man! How can a director make such a crap movie, I never will understand!
Part 2 is IMO nothing but trash!

A giant alien spaceship that's 500km (!) or so big! :) What a shitty story and plot holes. man!
None of our astronomers detect this giant alien ship, not even the military until it's too late. And this even happens twice, ie. in both parts! :)
Fugg it Mr. Emmerich idi! Do you think we are really so stupid, man!

  2. As far as I'm concerned......All 2's, Two's, Sequels are Stupid.
The story line, plot, movie should have just ended completely after the original.

There is literally a movie called Titanic 2. and Wall Street 2 was crap, too.

There was a wonderful speech in Reindeer Games.....about inventing a second Holiday called, Christmas 2 to further stimulate economic growth around late June, early July by a Dumb-sounding Danny Trejo after taking college night classes. Hilarious.

Independence Day 1 is awesome if in a cheesy way, its sequel is however unfortunately indeed garbage.

Then you have never watched Terminator 2, or Star Wars 2-Empire Strikes Back, or Grumpy Old Men 2, or Star Trek 2-Wrath of Khan, or Aliens (Alien 2)...I can come up with many more.

Give the twos a break. The second album is always the hardest, but many franchises do well. And I think Die Hard 2 was pretty darn good as well!

  5. Die Hard 2 was Laughable....compared to the original masterpiece Die Hard, and exciting Die Hard 3/With a Vengeance.
Under Siege 2 was laughable compared to the original.
BloodSport 2 was very laughable compared to the original.
Speed 2 was very laughable/bad compared to the magic of the original.
The Art of War 2 was Very bad and low budget and boring compared to the original 2000 film.

Erkel/Jaleel White was awesome in Family Matters TV show....his second show Grown Ups was laughably bad.

Yes, there are very many bad #2s. I was pointing out the good ones. Sheesh. And Die Hard 2 was a good film! The horror of it was palpable. And then 9/11 came and it wasn't so fun any longer..

  7. No way....no one can't possibly claim Die Hard 2 was a good film. That's a laughable statement compared to how great the original was, and how great Die Hard 3 was.

The bad guy in Die Hard 2 was complete shit compared to the bad guy in the original Die Hard and Die Hard 3. And the supporting crew and back story and casts as well.....were all shit. It tried to be exciting, compelling and pulling....but just failed.
    ....Die Hard 2.....,

Pppffhhfht. Hey man, there have been worse #2s. Like the ones you mentioned earlier.

Die Hard 3, IIRC, was the one where the guy was giving Willis and Jackson clues to defuse bombs all over the city? BAH.

C'Mon. That is more lame than crashing airplanes.

P.S. DH3 did not take place during X-MAS, so it was no longer a X-MAS movie franchise! They broke it!

  9. Yesterday I re-watched the movie "Morgan" (2016).
What an intellectually positive difference (enjoyment / challenge) to such prolly action shits like Independence Day.
It's about malfunctions of a genetically enhanced humanoid (prototype product of the company SynSect,
much like the Augments [1][2][3] of Star Trek) in a scientific control-environment for (product-) testing...
Of course things don't go as planned, as is usually the case in every movie... :D
