In IB's net asset value section: Which line includes unrealized P/L from futures

  1. In IB's activity report these lines make up net asset value:
    Cash
    Collateral Value
    Stock
    Securities Lent
    Interest Accruals
    Dividend Accruals
    CFD Unrealized P/L

Which of these lines include unrealized P/L from futures contracts?

    The cash line?

  2. Your activity statement should have a section titled "Mark-to-Market Performance Summary". Here you should see the P/L for any futures contract you have traded during the reporting period.
    Example:

  3. Yes, thank you. But I wonder where it is included in the Net Asset Value specification. In which line?

  4. The statement contains a section titled "Change in NAV", listing a Starting Value, some changes, and an Ending Value. One of those line items is called Mark-to-Market. This line is the summation of the futures Mark-to-Market P/L (partial screenshot I showed), plus changes in other asset classes (e.g. forex, stocks).

So the sequence is that futures P/L goes into Mark-to-Market P/L which goes into Change in NAV.

  5. I see that section on the right hand side.

The "Ending Value" in the "Change in NAV" section is equal to the "Total" value in the table on the left hand side. Since no other line in the table on the left hand side logically includes futures Mark-to-market P/L, I assume it goes into the Cash line?

  6. Yes, I agree with you.
