I was promised a gig, symmetric. I realize that neighborhood load is a factor, but help me achieve at least a Gbps. The provider is no help and latency sucks.
If you were promised 1 Gig, and benchmarked 810 MB, that is actually pretty good. How is your PC/Laptop connected to the router? If you are using WiFi, or worse WiFi over a mesh router, your speed will be less. If so, plug an Ethernet cable directly into the router to measure.
You'd be better off testing using Ookla Speedtest (test via their app, not via a browser): https://www.speedtest.net/ Which make and model of router do you use? Many don't have the grunt to handle Gigabit speeds.
Yeah, Ookla has more granular data but the results are close. They force you to use their model and router to get Gb-symmetric.
Someone tell Poopy that his connection is fine. The bandwidth matters not, and his latency is better than standard. It is the LATENCY and PACKET DROP RATE that matter. I think he is suffering from early-onset Alzheimers, because his whole shtick has been leveraged trades with option protection. How did he forget that?
