Hello, I was checking the crop progress report for different grains and oilseeds and I realized I wasn't really aware of the main production states for each commodity. Can you please help complete/correct my list : Corn : Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio ? Soft Winter Wheat : Illinois, Indiana? Hard Winter Wheat : Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota? Hard Spring Wheat : Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana? Soybeans : Iowa, Illinois, Indiana? Cotton : Texas, Virginia, Tennessee? Thanks a lot for your help.
Cotton, I don't know about Virginia and TN, but I do know Mississippi and Georgia are some of the main producers behind Texas.
Yep I meant Georgia when I said Virginia...My bad... I also forgot North Dakota for spring wheat, not Wisconsin.
Soybeans I'm showing Minnesota as the third largest. http://www.statista.com/statistics/192076/top-10-soybean-producing-us-states/ I believe they have most of the crops on there
As I dont know which state is where I prefer to use USDA maps : http://www.sailhome.org/Concerns/BodyBurden/Sources3/CornSyrup_files/Corn_USDA_map.png Then its easier when you at weather map to check if an event has an impact on crops !
