I'm strangely a better trader when I don't hangout at ET,

  1. ...I have, generally speaking, better trading days (or simply luck) when I don't hangout at EliteTrader during the normal hours trading day,

Thinking about you bozos ruins my zone or psych or vision or clarity of mind and rationality and foresight, o_O :banghead: -- no offense to anyone...just Sayin,

That's interesting I think it may depend on the activities you choose to engage in at ET or elsewhere, whether than the particular site. I see a lot of people on this site doing everything but trading.

Lots of talk about quotes, trading fables, famous traders, macro economics or list of books to read. Seems when it comes to actually live trading or discussing actual trading, there's not much activity in that regard.

I've started a journal, so will be interesting to see if it improves my trading, stays the same or gets worst. Today it actually helped me overall and was a nice change, so I'll be continuing unless it seems to be doing more harm than good.

  4. It's not strange at all, but for me it's not the site in general, it's political forum. It's like there's some voodoo fee that must be paid to the market gods for participation in such nonsense.

I've found the forum rather amateurish. I love the forum layout and whatever script is running it, but the content is far from being a goldmine of information. I frequent the stock section and that's obviously what all the noobs get started with, but have found myself in other sections and can't say I'm impressed.

I think ET is a forum which affects you, but like growing (in height) it is so inperceptable you don't realize the effect.
    For me ET is inspirational.
Where it is very good is (a) just follow and refer to 'Followed Threads' as your main source of inspiration. That is, there is a small number of threads which go on and on and have some good posters, example 'The ACD Method'. Now I'm not bothered about trading this method, but the posters and the chat on this thread is interesting. At top of ET's page is a Followed Threads icon, hit that each day and voila you have some quality content awaiting you.
    (b) For posters whom I think on ET having some nouse (smarts) about trading, I click on their username and Follow. Then, similar to Followed Threads, each day I click on my username at page top, click on 'Your News Feeds' and read content which for the most part is intelligent.

  7. ...to chime in again,

    Moby Dick audio book

I personally find that listening to audio books (or listening to movies) during normal trading hours...is extremely calming, and keeps your head cool and reasonable and rational, o_O ;)

Listening to audio story books keeps your head at peace while still running and thinking,
Keyword: listening. -- Watching will generally keep your emotions running wild, and you don't want that.
