I've been here awhile and have noticed something strange recently (as of today) that those on my "ignore / block member list"... I can now see their user name with time of posts in the thread I'm viewing but their message posts are "empty"...nothing there as if they forgot to write a body of texts. This is something I've never notice before and was wondering if this is a glitch that has recently started happening considering in the past I didn't see anything from the member...not even the user name...nothing...they just didn't exist. Simply, I was under the impression that was the purpose for the "block feature"...they couldn't see your posts nor name and when you posted and vice versa about them. Therefore, if I have someone on "block / ignore" can they now see when I'm posting but no message in my posts ??? wrbtrader
I have a few posters that blocked me and I don't see anything. Not their name not what they post. I can only see a post number that is missing. Maybe ask Baron?
There are many ways for them to see if you posted. If they log off and do an empty search on you name (under posted by member) the can read all yopur posts. They will always be able to see what you posted.
Yeah, I was referring to what happens after logging in... For example, the image below is what is shown for this thread and your user name virtusa is not on my ignore / block list... In contrast, after I log in and put you on my ignore / block list...I get the below image that shows an empty body text but I can still see your user name. That's new because in the past I wouldn't be able to see anything from you...not even your user name. Therefore, if you were to put me on your ignore / block list...would you see something similar like the below because its something I would see if I had you on my ignore / block list although not what I saw in the past (no message post, no user name) ? wrbtrader
I saw already several not logical (missing) results on ET while searching. Some things are missing depending of where and how you search, although the result should be the same. I am to lazy to try to find out what exactly happens and to inform Baron about it. It is not important for me. It looks like, depending where you ask a query, the filters are not the same. Example: depending on where you do ( what you think is the same query, but apparently is not) the query: blocked members can be taken in the query, but show no details just their name blocked members can be taken in the query, but show nothing at all; because the blocked member did last post the posting is in the list blocked members can no be taken in the query If I am logged in and select "new posts": it is not on the place where it should be based on the time of postings. in fact this thread is missing completely in the list. not normal. wrbtrader posted friday at 11:32PM as is mentioned, so it should appear in the list but it does not I do see threads in the "new posts" thread "ignored member" when they post. Why do I see them but not a posting from a member that is NOT blocked? if I click on the thread with the "ignored member" the postings open and I see nothing from that "ignored member". So that is correct. in the list "new posts" I see however new postings appear, so it is not a question of slower updating the "new posts" list. because then the missing postings should be listed too. logged in, blocking wrbtrader and doing a search give this result: if i go to "forums/ feedback" where the postings are saved, I see this: So depending where you look you see different things. If I watch now on the "new post" list, I see "ignored member" in the list bit if I open that thread, the "ignored member" is not visible anymore. So they are there sometimes and not sometimes. Ignored should be invisible everywhere. I also have the impression that a person that is blocked sometimes disappears completely, but sometimes his name with an empty posting appears. all this without me touching/changing my list of blocked people. I cannot give more specific information about that as I don't pay attention on these small errors and don't want to waste my time on it.
