If You Can't Make Money On a Simulator

  1. If You Can't Make Money On a Simulator, then you have no business trading with real money. I will post my daily results here using a simulator. I will trade NQ with a 500k sim account. I will not say where i am buying or selling, takes too much time.

    I will post my trades after cash close 3:00pm CST.

    Wish me luck!

    As an addition , don't touch real monies(slang credits @smallfil ) until you tripple that sim account.(strategy credits @Handle123 )

    And buying at close, helped me once already, so kudos to you Rick as well.

    Wanna know why SIM trading is a waste of time?

    Because people think using a 500K account, which allows for almost any strategy to be employed with no regard for exchange margins, liquidation thresholds, position drawdown, or even trade size in terms of number of contracts and/or money value is day-to-day realistic for themselves. After all, I'm sure most people have zero concern with placing large(ish) sums of money in a non-insured segregated futures account.

    Try using a 25K account! Fwiw, NQ has exchange margin of 16K with no special day-trade margin. Every trading day there is a window of time where existing positions require full exchange margin to continue to be held or must be liquidated partially or fully, or margin-called for compliance. Being the master buy on close trader you are, the compliance time window is especially important.

    Knock yourself out.:vomit::thumbsdown::banghead:

    why are you bothering with a Sim account?
    I would think that someone with 7000 posts over several years would be running a proper real account.

    If it’s for illustrative purposes, why not just use your real money account?

  5. I used to trade sim accounts (as a kid -- paper trading on interactive brokers) and kept breaking the sim. Unfortunately, real life is quite different. Backtesting a strategy is more helpful IMO.

    I am looking forward to it. If we can't get proof of consistent traders sim proof is better than nothing

    I'd use an account size similar to what I'd be trading with a live account. More realistic!!

    Good Luck!

  10. You’ve been making risk free free money for 10 years now. The real account should be worth a billion by now. :)
