They've already lost. Just too dumb to figure it out. Trump working with the Dems....priceless. You have the House, Senate, President and SC and can't ANYTHING done. Fucking losers.
Pretty good article. The problem however is that while the republicans nominally control government, in reality they don't. Truth be told, corporate-controlled republicans like Ryan, McConnell and McCain are closer to dems like Schumer than to the Freedom Caucus guys or Heaven forbid, to Trump. Plenty of of Trump populists say their second choice was Sanders. So there are like three republican parties, all somewhat pretending to be one but in fact with diametrically opposing policies. By contrast, the dems have ruthlessly purged all but the extreme far left from their ranks. They have a couple of outliers, like Manchin of WV, but there are rarer than black republicans. So it's far easier for dems to push extreme policies, particularly since they are only competitive in antifa-occupied territory anyway. They aren't concerned about turning off middle class whites, because they aren't voting for them anyway.
Well said, its pretty disheartening, because its pretty much impossible to achieve anything now from a conservative agenda, the entire media now just shits on anyone who doesnt tow their line, and the republicans are to big of pussies to stand their ground. Admittedly having a faceoff on the debt ceiling would not have been optimal here, with these 2 hurricanes, so pushing it off for a little bit makes sense, but what credit does the media give trump for that? Zero, infact they attacked him for turning on republicans. 3 months from now when they have to figure out DACA, the media will just claim trump is heartless for pushing border security along with DACA, seems like a fair negotiation, but do you think anyone in the MSM will call Dems "Obstructionists" like they did to republicans if Trump says you can have DACA if i get funding for the border wall? Does anyone actually think the media will blame Trump if the government gets shut down cause dems are unwilling to negotiate? They sure seemed to love blaming republicans under Obama when republicans pulled that stunt. Nope, what they will say is that Trump is an animal for tying these peoples lives into his border wall. There is no more chance of conservatives winning I have already given up hope. If we cant even win when we control both houses, and we have someone who hates the media, and refuses to operate under their rules, as much as Trump in charge, what chance do we have of winning any of these battles? Zero.
Trump promised Mexico would pay for his wall so the media is right to blame him for trying to make US tax payers pay for it.
Pretty good points in the article. I do however believe that he is overthinking that part about Obama believing that the Republicans would or would not do this or that. That is giving him wayyyy to much credit. Obama simply believed that he could do a quick fix on immigration and health care and that as it unraveled it would be Hillary's problem and she would do some kind of lefty fix. Obama's rating were the highest on record for a departing president and he was quite confident that that would carry Hillary and the dems into power. He wasnt worrying about republicans expending or not expending political capital on daca or anything else. Then Trump happened. Quite so in regard to your point about "nominal control." The pubs have the body count on their side but when it comes to action there are a bunch of Arlen Spector types in there. Republicans who are willing to put on a dress like a woman so that they can get into the lifeboats first.
When Mexico retaliates with a tax of their own they wont.Of course there is no guarantee Trump can get such a tax through Congress, his record of getting things through Congress suggest he wont. If thats the plan though let Trump get the tax passed, have the funds collected minus any losses from Mexico's retaliation than build the wall
LOL, yeah cause Mexico is really going to try to start a trade war with the U.S. What do you think the dollar volume is of money transfers coming from mexicans to the U.S. versus the other way around?
