If I cancel level II and just have level 1, will it be enough to get real-time data?

    Hey guys,

I don't use level II to trade and just look at level 1. That being said, will subscribing to level 1 be enough to show me real time data?

    Thanks

For me, the level 1 data is sufficient.
I just need the nearest bid-offer row

  3. Who is your broker? Whoever provides the feed to your trading platform will be able to answer that question for you better than any of us. However, I have not experienced a trading platform that did not provide real time level one if you are paying for it (I presume you are referring to futures). For stock data, all the main brokers provide free real time level one as far as I know.

If you don't scalp, yes Level I is plenty enough as real-time data for trading.

IB is my broker and level I cost 4.5$ it is not free. I trade stocks

  9. If you are paying for level one stock data you had better believe it is real time.

So far IB is the only discount broker that charges for Level I data for stock. It is in real-time but in snapshot.
