I applied with AMP a few months ago, waited a month(!) to hear back from them, and was told "we are not going to move forward with a business relationship at this time." No idea. Anyway, I just talked to Tradovate who was very nice and eager to help me. But, they charge $15 per month and if I want to use SierraChart it's ANOTHER $15/mo. I'm not sure how I feel about that. AMP seems to have the best fees and deals but they don't want my business. Are there any other options? I just want to trade micros, and maybe use SierraChart (or Jigsaw but probably SierraChart) UNLESS they have a killer DOM/charting platform.
Most brokers have been extremely busy the last year with new clients, an extended waiting time is to be expected right now. If you think the process is taking too long you can always call them to ask about the process. If you want to know the possible reason why they declined you, you will need to provide more information about your employment status etc. Not saying that you need to share that kind of information here, but other members can't give you an explanation without knowing more details. Accounts usually only get rejected for certain reasons. Anyway, if you can't afford or aren't willing to pay $30/month in fees you probably shouldn't be trading in the first place.
TradeStation might be good. I don't have an account with them, but I was thinking about it. No minimum deposit amount anymore and no data fees. You have to make 5 trades in a year or have an average monthly balance of $2000 to waive their Annual inactivity Fee of $50. I got these figures from chatting with an online representative and I saved the dialogue. Sierra Chart is now $26 a month even for AMP users. I'd save money by switching to TradeStation, but Sierra Chart has a great realistic replay for sim trading that I'm not ready to give up.
Apparently Ninjatrader also has replay and I'm looking into now to compare with Sierra Chart's. Don't want to pay a $26 monthly fee if I don't have to.
Oh really? Last I heard you got SierraChart free. I know TS is really big but I thought they were like $200/mo or something!
I thought everyone was leaving NinjaTrader. I had heard good things about them forever until recently.
ninja is free until you need to trade live. If you are concerned about $26 per month, stop right now and avoid trading like a plague. You are very uncapitalized and will loose what ever funds you have.
no idea what you mean. They are still great and been great for a while. We have been using them for over 10 years. Last few years we use the platform for full algorithmic trading.
$30 a month is nothing. You can make that in less than an hour trading micros. If you're not capable of generating this even occasionally I would suggest finding another field.
