Are you kidding me? This song is anti-religious. What were they thinking? Is Garth on drugs or what? I realize he is over the hill and needs the exposure, but he should of stayed home. I doubt if Jimmy would of approved of this. Who in the world did? Watch: Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood perform 'Imagine' at Jimmy Carter's funeral
It was a favourite song of his, you never understand anything. Jimmy was a big music fan. Carter’s Christianity was deeply rooted in the teachings of Jesus about love, peace, and the inherent dignity of all people. He was a staunch advocate for human rights, equality, and global unity, ideals that align with the overarching message of Imagine. Its inclusion signified an emphasis on shared human values and a tribute to Carter’s work in building a more compassionate and just world, rather than a rejection of his personal faith.
Sounds like Jimmy only liked the parts of the song which he understood. (No more greed, hunger, ect) Or maybe he was a damn communist who did not believe in religion, borders, people having material wealth, no more country, no more politics, ect How should a Christian view John Lennon’s song “Imagine”? "Further, history disproves Lennon’s optimism. A denial of heaven and hell does not result in world peace—quite the opposite, in fact. The worst human atrocities—counter to the rest of Lennon’s vision, ironically—have been driven by an atheistic rejection of the afterlife and the removal of religion from society. When leaders assume there is nothing “above” man, the result is usually genocide: witness Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, and others who saw themselves as the highest authority".
Some 'Christians' have been known to wear pure white gowns, and are very hot-tempered/judgmental. Kind/helpful Christians are rare and close to extinction.
It's a great song. Important message to disregard idiots like yourself that are constantly trying to ruin the world for everyone with your hateful approach and bigotry. Seriously, just fuck off you dimwit.
It's incredible that an ignorant slug like "Fortune Teller" thinks he has something to say about John Lennon and Jimmy Carter. Sign of the recent times this is peak stupidity in the US.
The outrage. In his later years, Carter's appreciation of “Imagine” was much in evidence. When Georgia Tech students surprised Carter and former first lady Rosalynn Carter with a rendition of the song in 2017, the former president rose to his feet and led the applause. https://www.thenation.com/article/s...ter years, Carter's,feet and led the applause.
