I havnt ben able to access IBs website from the Uk for a few days now. Anyone else experiencing problems? Just wanted to check in case the problem is local to me or something to do with my setup! cheers Hugh: confused:
Today is OK, but I noticed yesterday all US sites were really slow including Elite Trader. Probably sharks eating through the transatlantic cable! I usually like to check http://www.internettrafficreport.com/ But even that was buggered yesterday!
That is working right now for me. Must be something wrong with your ISP. Who are they? Why not try ping or tracert (in a command prompt window) through to www.internettrafficreport.com See if any hops are not responding etc. As a comparison I get an average 165ms using NTLworld Broadband via ping and tracert shows 30 hops of which the last 13 show "request time out". This is generally not good but at least my ISP is working as the first few hops are OK.
Funster Interesting!! im using NTL as well and another trader in Nottm has the same difficulty! Oddly, i could ping the IB site ok but couldnt get their web page to open? May give NTL a ring and see if they can shed any light on it but they take so long to respond!! Anyway thx for the response!! cheers
I've found your problem. It is because you are a northerner!!! http://www.ntl-isp.ntl.com/lookup/default.asp Slow browsing speeds today up your way. Useful link by the way for NTL server status.
Not at all. I am moving up north soon. You can get more than a shoebox to live in for your money where you are!
Funster where are you moving to or havnt you decided yet! Dont forget your wellies and woolie jacket, its cold and wet up here but the natives are warm hearted!! cheers
