Hello, I haven't used TWS for charting in a while, and I can't recall exactly ,but it seemed on previous versions about 5 years ago, you could pull a secondary series on a chart , put on the crosshair button and then you could read the secondary series quotes in a panel next to the chart. Now there is only one quote panel in the low right corner and only for the primary series. There are also no indication of values of this second series on axis. In fact it is pretty useless to put a second series since I can't read the values with my current setup. I am sure there is an option somewhere to enable this. Please help me. I am on Build 950.2g. Thanks a lot.
I've been looking for this as well as I sometimes trade based on values. I don't know why this was removed, it was not in the way.
Really? It's not possible anymore ?I thought I was the only one unable to figure it out. What is the point of having a secondary serie on a chart if you can't even check its values, calculate their respective betas...
I wanted to check the indicator value which is really just another secondary series but cannot find any option to do this.
Mine works like you want: Bring up SPY chart Right click -> chart parameters Secondary Series -> add VXX -> choose secondary axis Right click -> chart parameters -> mark checkbox for quote panel ...mine shows spy candles with prices on one axis, vxx line with prices on secondary axis, and a quote panel for both tickers underneath. Build 957.3m.
Thanks a lot S2BG, I appreciate a lot. Now I have the secondary series values on the other axis but still no quote panel for second series. "Quote panel" checkbox is on...???
S2BG, I understand now. You are talking about quote panel outside when I am talking about the "bar details zone" on the left bottom corner of the charts. This one gives the OHLC of the bar you are scrolling on with crosshair. Is it possible to get the 2 series in the bar details zone? If someone from IB can help...
Agreed, am not seeing a way to get more than one "quote zone". The only other option I can think of is going the API route and charting/keeping values yourself.
Mouse over the main series at the time you want and a pop up will show the values of all the series at that point. I forget if there's a setting to do this - it used to be the box where the values appeared as static, now it kinda floats around depending on where your cursor is. I liked the old way a little better, but either gets the job done.
You're talking about the crosshair function. This isn't the same thing, there used to be values displayed on the Y axis and it displayed the last values. Perhaps someone from IB could tell us why this was removed, it certainly wasn't in the way. There's an indicator displaying current price on the left, why isn't there one for the indicators or secondary series?
