Everything is working, but I just noticed something odd.

The windows firewall rule for TWS , points to an old directory C:\IB\978\tws.exe

Im on version 981 in C:\IB\981\tws.exe. There is no entry for that location .

So how does that firewall rule still work??

Is it so simplistic that it only looks at the exe name???

Rarely look at firewall rules, so maybe one of you knows whats up

Do a registry search for "C:\IB\981\tws.exe". Perhaps the built-in Win firewall didn't update it in the user interface. If it is in the registry in the firewall branch, it's working. If it is not, yer probably not protected though the firewall, and could add that file location manually?

Don't think its a matter of protection. TWS should be updating the new path on install. Unless its not needed at all.

Since everything seems to work, it may not be.

I see what you're saying, how would that be possible, to be in the reg and not the firewall interface . Doubt it is

Adding , or just updating to the current path is easy, but wanted to know why they even bother to put it in the firewall if its not needed

Mmm, yeah. I don't ever check the Win firewall, I just let it run automatic. Was simply grasping from mental memory banks as to why the software might have that glitch of pointing to the wrong file location.

Just use yer anti-viral and anti-malware software, keep it updated, wear your mask, use hand sanitizer when you get back into your vehicle (if applicable), wash your hands with warm soapy water when you get home, and don't rub your eyes when out in public, and your PC should be right as rain! LOL

Not really a glitch. Looks like version 978 updated the firewall and the later versions didnt

Must be someone here that knows why pointing to the wrong directory has no negative effect.

I see my question has gone right over the heads of 100,000 users

Why am I not surprised ? Cause I aint.
