IB stop orders after 4 PM EST

  1. ok, first of all, i'm not at all accusing IB of doing anything wrong. i've just noticed something unexpected and i'm trying to understand.

while trading ES, i have noticed a couple times that my DAY stop order doesn't get triggered after 4 PM. do i need to use GTC if i have a position past 4 PM? what am i missing?

    thanks

You should check the option "Allow triggering outside of RTH", RTH = NYSE trading hours.

A subject which has been discussed here before.

  3. IB has a setting that limits STOPs to regular trading hours. It's under "Stop Trigger Configuration" and the little checkbox at the bottom "allow triggering outside regular trading hours"

Even for ES that appears to be the NYSE std trading hours. If you want stops to execute outside RTH, you have to active it.
