Hi I have never traded at USA so its all kinda new to me but I have opened an account at IB
and when I logged in to TWS I saw that all my data is delayed,

I was trying to look at SPY weekly options so I clicked on the 'click here to subscribe' I went to a screen with way too many data providers to choose from, I just want the real time last few bids/asks.
I chose US Options & NYSE level 1

I thought it will work but still everything is delayed.

    A) Does it take time till a subscription takes effect?
    B) May it be related to the fact that I haven't yet funded my account?
    C) Did I choose the wrong markets?

    Thanks in advance

yes, you won't get real time until your account is funded, even if you have sent them the money it takes a week or so for the funds to clear, even if you ach your intital deposit, but you need to subscribe to real time for spy and options. But NYSE is correct. Check the balance in your account window, when it goes positive then your quotes should go real time.

I believe even after your account is funded, you need to go to account management page and on subscription data sign up for the real time data which will be $10 a month and then if your commission a month is over $30, it will be waived. By the way recently I realized that free real time (that $10 one) is just for regular trading hours and in order to get real time data outside of regular trading hours you need to sign up to NASDAQ, AMEX and the other one for $1.5 each.

Do you mean that in order to view SPY real-time I need to also register for :
    https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=marketData&p=mdata
'US Securities and Futures Value Bundle'(10$ -> waived) in addition to the NYSE(1.5$) & US Options(1.5$ -> waived)?

Yes sign up for any data feed which are free even you don't know what they really mean (Like NYSE order imbalance). Also sign up for that $10 bundle and US options which are waived. You need to sign up for AMEX Level 1, NASDAQ Level 1 and NYSE Level 1 which are $1.5 each and are not waived if you want to have real time data outside of regular trading hours but if you are not that active trader, you can live without them for a few months and then decide. You can always subscribe and then if you don't need it or are not trading for say 6 month, unsubscribe so you wont get charge for that period

I agree with hajimow, looks like they might have changed it since I opened and now include stocks in the basic feed. So that would cover spy, and probably you'll need to subscribe to the options. It's no big deal, just wait until your account is funded and then subscribe if you are not getting what you want.

and any problems or questions can easily be solved on the phone.

I just opened a new account with ib about a year ago, and for some reason when my account got funded my futures quotes were still delayed. I called them on the phone and they clicked me through it and they went live while we were still on the phone.

Also IB has lots of recorded webinars about different features of TWS. It is a good idea to watch them even if you might not use some of them. At least you would know they are there.

now I don't know if my stock quotes are delayed like they use to be or have been upgraded to real time in the basic futures and forex package. How would I ever know? I never trade stocks with ib and have no stock quotes on my screen.

I use to keep some stocks I own at other brokerages at the bottom of my screen, and check them when times were slow. But I have enough going on in my trading to also be watching what is going on over there in buy and hold, so I deleted them.

But how would I know if my spy quote is real or delayed? I guess I'd have to watch it and wait for a move in the futures.
