    New to IB and very confused on its market data pricing. My basic question is that I would need to get realtime price quotes for about 200 to 500 stocks every 5 minutes or shorter. So how much total monthly data charge IB would have for an ibkr pro account that incurs way more than $100 commissions monthly?

    I don't care whether the quotes are from snapshot or streaming.

    I read $1.5 snapshot monthly charge for each exchange. My stocks would come from nyse, nasdaq and amex.

    same question for option prices too

    appreciate any help here!

  2. This. 3 x 1.5 = 4.5 USD per month.

    I can't answer your question about options.

    THAT sounds right;
    options data is so wild + puny profits, keep your own non -option data in your NoTe Book.

    So based on IB, they also give $1 snapshot for free, that would mean you only need to pay 3.5 USD/month, right?

  5. That depends and goes into the territory of "how long is a piece of string". IB charges a certain amount for each snapshot, until the total charge for your snapshots exceeds the monthly amount for that exchange (i.e. 1.5 USD). As I can't be bothered with 1 USD/month I simply pay the monthly fee.
