IB -Brexit -Advisors without EEA Records-Clients Accounts Frozen

    i have an account on IB with a Financial Advisor Swiss based.
    Last week my account was frozen because my Advisor have not an EEA registration and cannot get it.
    I have made the requested paper work to delink from the Advisor but i still cannot trade.
    I wrote the same message on Reddit and someone told me to be in the same situation from a Month now.
    Anyone else have solved this nightmare ?

  3. Financial Advisor. Why i use them is a long story started from MFGlobal mess. But the point is how long will need IB to unblock the account?
    I can understand they are overloaded with all the accounts transfer and that make me worry.
     
  4. They restrict my account from yesterday for the migration but it seems they did some advances as i see most of the options working now. I still cant trade though but that not an issue for now. I hope Monday will work 100%.
    I dont know about your situation, it seems more complicated. I hope this resolve quick for you. Why you don't remove the advisor from handling your account and save the fuss and money.

    I have been to a broker to help me with some issues i didn't know about warrants and private placements but the fees they charge are double the fees IB charge so i stayed by myself.

    Here i am: i have requested to remove the Advisor and i am waiting for this from a week now.
    Worst, someone told me to be in the same situation i waiting from a month.
    I can only hope that we are not thousands of clients in the same situation.
    I am sure that you will be able trade tomorrow. My son account was transfered and we did not even notice it.

    Did you open the account through the advisor as a managed account?
    If you did, you might be better off closing it and apply for one directly.

  8. Still cant do any trades, only closing positions. Still on the migration process.
     
  9. Same for me, still in UK and still blocked for the advisor issue.
    My son and my dougther accounts were migrated few days after their agreement and were able to trade.
