This morning, while attempting to log in my Interactive Brokers account, I got "Another session with the same user name already exists" "Click OK to login and disconnect the other session" Messages. I positively had no other sessions going on my end. So far, my session has not been disconnected. In the past, I have only seen this message when I was logged in with another device, say my tablet then I logged in with my notebook. I called IB's customer service and they gave me three log in times and said they were all from the same IP address. I had only logged in once up to that point. Have I been hacked by sophisticated spyware or is there a more mundane answer? FBI is on speed dial, so to speak, but I would like to get some feedback from others, including another IB representative before putting on the foil hat.
I thought that was automatic as part of their 2-step verification process? I get that same message every time I login. I dont think you can verify on the same device,same IP address.
Its probably just a glitch, it logged in you, thought it hadn't then automatically retried to log you in again a few seconds later. Then it discovered that there was actually a login session from the login a few seconds prior.
I've had at least 6 disconnects from IB this morning, far more than I've had in prior 10 YEARS. I don't know if it was IB, and/or IB & Verizon Home, although I was able to re-log via cell using Boost, which I think sometimes using Verizon cellular. What is particularly annoying, whenever there are IB issues, they almost NEVER post on their "system status" page.
why fbi is on sped dial? aren’t you a special kid? one would have iphone, ipad, tws, web portal connected at one point or the other and forgot, trading permission, deposit and withdrawal require authentication, cumbersome but work ok.
