I finally broke down and bought my first crypto

I have been criticized through the years by crypto fans: How dare you to talk bad about my favorite coin, when you never even owned a crypto? Heard it many times from different people, and I must say, I see their point.

I always thought this was a valid criticism. After all I never drove a NASCAR automobile either and dare I say anything about those drivers? No, Sir, I dare not. If you ever expressed your opinion on anything, you should have a Ph.D as a minimum on the subject, that is how I feel too. Thus I felt I probably have to do something to become an expert on cryptos.

So listening to the times and the crypto virus being in the air, I finally got the crypto fever. I probably caught it at the grocery store, because the apple shiner was trying to tell me about the advantages of Monero over Gala or Fuji, but it is possible I misunderstood him. Nevertheless, when I came home I jumped on the computer and started crypto hunting.

I didn't want the best performer, LTC or the most popular, BTC, I wanted something unique, something that I can learn to love, and also can make me rich in the process. Shininess of the coin counted less than the cuteness of it. I wanted something cheap, cute and not wanted by others. Something that can take off and take me to the Moon.

    So I bought a Dogecoin...

You have to tell me, if this picture doesn't warm your heart on this cold December night
(wind chill tomorrow morning is 1 F, not kidding) I don't know what does. I am going to keep it under my pillow, every other day even take it for a walk, and I promise to be a very good owner. Some cryptos might go to the Moon, but all Doges go to Heaven!

Oh, here comes the best part. The purchase came with a Certification of Authenticity saying:

"Now You Are An Expert on Cryptos!"

    Nice.
"Dogecoin price for today is $0.0034. It has a current circulating supply of 112 Billion coins and a total volume exchanged of $19,194,394"
I believe it will go up up up. It not, no one loses nothing.

Is it too early to sell? Or too late? Or too late to buy?

Maybe it's just me... But I find it a bit megalomaniac(to say the least) to open a thread just to announce to others that one has bought a cryptocurrency(it this was facebook, then it would make sense, even though I'm not a fan of facebook...:D)

    I mean.... Who gives a s...t?

Not to mention the fact that I think that everytime one does something because of other people's opinion, even if it is buying a "penny crypto", there's probably too much insecurity going on(again, to say the least)...

I agree with you that you didn't have to buy cryptos to bash it... You could do it without ever buying it...
Once, in a lecture in an university in the US, people questioned Milton Friedman if he'd ever been poor (assuming that only poor people could say the things he said...) After answering that he had been in fact poorer then most of the college students in the room, he said: "But the real question is: Is there one of you who would say that you don't want a doctor to treat you for cancer unless he himself has had cancer?"

But hey, that's just my 2 cents... I may find what you did stupid, but I'll fight to the death for you to have the right do say/do it...:D

Yes, it is just you. This thread is one of my most Liked posts, and don't you think that if one of the biggest critics of cryptos finally turns and goes long, that signals a top? So it has trading value...

And don't you dare to say anything bad about my coin, or I unleash the Doge!!!

I do. I take a chiropractor with cancer over an oncologist any day. I mean, don't you want personal experience? I also take a cultist ponzi* pusher's advice over Finance 101 but only on Wednesdays...

*I have nothing against ponzis, they have been the best performing financial assets in history, as long as you got out in time.

Again, you seem to care to much about what others think... If you measure what you say by how many "likes" you get, too much insecurity... It may have millions of "likes" and still be worthless... Just look at the politicians people elect and you get the idea...:D
No... As I said, I don't care about other people's opinion and I certainly wouldn't use these opinions to make trading decisions.
I hope there never comes a day when you have to swallow these words... But having said them, you essentialy admit that everything you said previous to the day you bought your first crypto, was indeed worthless.;)
