I'm thinking of holding through earnings. I like what HP is doing:

    1. They spun off their consumer stuff (laptops, printers, etc.) into a separate legal entity; namely, HPQ. I see these as a bit of a declining industry, so it's good for HPE
    2. They recently bought Silicon Graphics International (SGI), which leads me to believe that they're cooking up some sweet new technology (*cough* virtual reality?)
    3. They recently got a nice pop on rumors that they're selling their software unit.
    4. They're laying off peeps, which makes me sad. At the same time it says that they're tightening up the ship.

I see HPE getting focused on enterprise technology and innovation.

So although the earnings surprise is a mystery, I think that the forward guidance is going to be good.

    Discuss?

Not my cup of tea... but the obvious question is what has the sector done this Q? CRM is down. Perhaps not apples to apples.... but be careful.

If they come out with a great forecast, you can bet the markets overall are gonna move up. They are looking for an excuse to go higher.

This is actually going to be one of the bigger market moving events this week. One way or the other. Thnx for the reminder.

  4. Hewlett Packard Enterprise's outperform rating reiterated at Credit Suisse Group AG. $25.00 PT.

I see them making good decisions. I might double down today.
