I am sorry, I lived in both US and China for period of time. I see how efficient China is when they dealing with major event like the Virus. There's one case reported today, and the street is already in lockdown mode and everyone has no complain. H&M is about to close down become people decide to not buy their products after cotton backlash. People follow the Government and work on the same goal even with little sacrifice. As long as a legit government is in power, I don't see how US could compete with China nowaday. I guess democracy doesn't work this well in the crisis we have nowaday. Tell me how you think

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."--John Adams

I'll add that democracy also fails as the number of clowns in it's society reach 'critical mass' levels.

No doubt a democracy is less efficient than an autocracy. Xi snaps his fingers and boom, infrastructure gets built. We have to slug it out in public in front of the voters here and half of the country will be butthurt just to build a road or a railway. It’s messy and imperfect.

But, as corny as this sounds, that’s what freedom looks like. You win some, you lose some but you get your say and another chance down the road - that is, of course, if our roads don’t crumble because Joe Manchin would rather contemplate his navel in the woods than get something done.

China has to oppress and suppress people as state policy. They can’t even be honest about Covid and we all know. Xi’s power lies in force against large portions of the Chinese people and their neighbors. The problem is the Chinese will ultimately run from a fight where free men and free women have been running to defend freedom since the battle of marathon. History shows tyrants crumble. In Ancient Rome, the people used rise up and slaughter the senate every hundred years or so until the ruling class gave the people of Rome their representation.

Chinese communism will crumble from the inside out. They can only make so many Chinese part of the state and that leaves too many out. the internal discontent will only grow because unlike in democracies there is not win some and lose some in China and not everyone gets their say.
