How will the market react to the election?

Most seem to think that the market will drop sharply if Biden wins, anticipating higher taxes and an overall environment over the next four years that is less friendly to Wall Street and big business.

Is the market likely to rise sharply if Trump wins?

How are you going to play the election?

I'm thinking I may just go long on volatility...

Will expect a short lived selloff under a Biden win, followed by eventual steady growth. Complete opposite of the above on a Trump win

The market reacts more positively in scenarios where there is certainty. I believe the market will rise whether Biden or Trump wins.... as businesses can adjust to new/known policies, etc. As long as there is a clearly defined winner of the election by the morning of November 4th.

The market will tank IMO if there is uncertainty after November 3rd and Trump is refusing to leave office, etc. etc.
