When the result out, the price should break out in one direction, instead of swing largely at that time point, that's my opinion. Currently the gbp.usd is 1.637, let's say, the price just before the result comes out is 1.63, so how about set 2 mkt stp orders on the upside and downside of 1.63? Or just set a market order after see the result, will it be too slow?

  2. There's no single result, as there will be multiple councils reporting at different times. Watch North Lanarkshire for a potential indication of which way the wind is blowing. By the time you get the final result, the move is likely to be done.

  3. Martin, your statement about the move presupposes that it's a No? If Yes, I think there would be a sustained move as full implications become clearer?

    Thanks.

In case the result will be out gradually, following the SMA line may be a good strategy?

where the hell have you been? The trade was already made when the YES vote polled at 51%. You had all day to short Sterling. Now it looks like it will be close or NO, and the pound is recovering from the over reaction.

whatever, the trade has already been made.

if you like mini black swans, better look ahead to the next crisis

If the trade's already been made, why the unusually high volume for this time of day?

I hear ya, all 6 are pretty active for a Thursday night. If the vote comes out Yes, you can probably kiss goodbye 1.64 for the pound for a while. Anybody checked out what that Irish betting house that takes bets on anything is offering odds at? If you do google it, check also what they are offering for Hillary to Win.

If the result is Yes, maybe I can short ES before the result is declared. If it's No, I will follow the trend

and just exactly how do you short if the vote is YES before the result is declared?

  10. I have a short at 1.6512, but nothing sizeable to speak of. target 100 lower before week's end; stop at 1.6572.
