How to trade Forex with NinjaTrader

  1. All you need to do is open a Forex.com account, and use the free multi broker license key provided with our VPS. If you don't have an account, it's instant to create and you could be trading Forex with live market data in under 5 minutes! Watch the tutorial below:

  2. Good Morning Ninja Mobile Trader,

I have thought about trading some EURUSD with an algo as that market stays open 24 hours a day, so I can keep positions open for weeks or even months.

    Question:

    1. I am NT8 owner, and I run intraday algos on futures market. My trades are closed by end of the day. Sometimes on Friday, NT8 will disconnect connection to the platform for routine maintenance. If I have a EURUSD trade on Long or Short active at the Forex broker, and NT8 disconnect my account, what happens to my trade position? Will it close the trade? Also, what happens when I re-activate the account to the position?

I would prefer to use NT8 to trade forex rather than MT5, but not sure about what happens to my trade positions if NT8 automatically turns off the account while I am still in a trade for maintenance.

    Thank you

  3. The disconnect is only from NinjaTrader brokerage (Continuum). If you were connected to a Forex Broker, then it wouldn't disconnect over the weekend unless the Forex Broker also has a disconnect.

Either way, your active positions are independent from NinjaTrader being open. You can be in a position and NinjaTrader is closed, it won't impact the trade. For automated strategies, there's options in NinjaTrader to select how the trade is treated when NinjaTrader disconnects, so you can have it stay open, and then the algo can continue when reconnected.
