Hi, I need help to remove PC noise. My current PC has its fan running loud. I am thinking to put the PC into a closet that is 10 meters away, but the HDMI cable, USB cable are too short. What is a good solution to that? If I need to invest in hardware, I can do that, too. Thanks.

  2. 1. Likely your fans are running high speed because your CPU is hot... likely your PSU also. If you can, you need to reduce the load on the CPU.

    2. There are computers marketed as "silent" or "low noise"... you can look into that.

    3. Get a more powerful computer than can handle your workload "comfortably".

    Those are places to start.

You need a no-fan PC which is doable but not for all Highend CPUs. Look for noiseless or silent PC. There is plenty on info on net. I also have a zero noise PC, because when I sit in front of it for more than 14 hours, the last thing I need is noise from Comp.

Can you recommend your PC brand and model?

My quality gaming PC noise is also quite a nuisance.
When there is so much heat generated, the fans have to work
very hard to cool the system down.

    What can we do?

Change all the fans into high-quality ones.
    There are CPU fans,
    graphic cards fans,
    casing fans,
    Power supply fan.

    get an extra-long HDMI cable,
    USB cable,
and house the PC in a soundproof closet (with more FANS!).

anyway, there is no obvious solution.

There might be a setting in the BIOS that will allow you to set the fan speed. If your CPU gets too hot, it will throttle down to reduce power consumption / heat output.

  8. I've never heard of a laptop being marketed as "no fan/noiseless"... maybe someone will chime with a rec.

Suggest you look into a desktop/workstation for your trading endeavors.

  9. Some Apple laptops are fanless. Also Lenovo Thinkpads (and there might be others) are designed to have low noise levels. But indeed, there might be solutions without buying a new computer. Start with opening the Windows task manager (ctrl-alt-del), order processes on CPU and/or GPU and see if you have any unnecessary processes running wild making your computer hot with elevated fan speed.

I have no brand PC, but brand hardware put together, with a special case for it. And the CPU does not need any fans. Also my graphic card has no fans, because I do not play any games with it and for charting it is enough. You only need to look for CPUs with lower than 100 TDP and no fan graphic card, that's it for most. Of course a noise reduction kit for the case also helps. My noise is ZERO decibel, you cannot hear the PC, even it is running and backtesting for 24/7 for months on 100% CPU. I tested this.
