How much tax does Reits in London Stock Exchange charge for foreigner?

  1. I am not a UK resident and may buy Reits in LSE through IB brokage. I cannot find out how much tax do they charge through Google. I mean all the tax includes buy/sell/dividen tax. Please share if you know, thank you.

    Are you an EU citizen? If you're an American, you'll pay capital gains taxes no matter where you trade, or live.

    You will pay 0.5% stamp duty on purchase.
     
  4. I am not an EU citzen. How much is the capital gain tax? Apply for both Riets price raise and dividen?

    I was wondering about this too. What is the withholding tax rate for non-UK citizens that are from a country without a tax treaty with the UK?

    The capital gains tax is the rate you pay in your home country.

    Which REITs are you looking at? I'm watching HMSO and GPOR closely - will buy when they and the GBP stabilizes.
     
  8. I am Hong Kong citizen now and the capitial gain tax from hong kong stock market is zero over here. Then do I need to pay tax if I buy UK Riets?
