How long before you were successful?

 

Define successful.

 

I would define successful:

For an investor- beating the S&P 500 consistently, that it is worth the time and effort.

For a full time trader- being able to have fun and make a living running their own business.

 

40s????? Thats ancient

 

Define beating the S&P 500.

 

Return > SP return

 

Better returns with less volatility or much better returns with reasonable volatility.

 

Define worth the time and effort.

 

Define reasonable volatility.

 

Good answer, I am not trying to be a jerk it is a simple concept but many people miss it.
