I'd like to share (think I've shared this before) how I find some of my stocks. I usually look for leaders in an industry (Walmart, McDonalds, Alibaba)...For safety and to try and dominate an industry. The other ones I look for are usually found in this little closed end fund. I go to RVT...Yeah it's getting bought out. The people there look for VALUE!! Low debt, market share (niche product), good management, good PEs. At Royce Global Trust (RGT) a few years ago, their number one international company was a German box company...A BOX COMPANY!! Not pretty, just value in uncertain times. I will review their top ten companies...As much as I can. They have done a lot of the work already. Is RVT adding positions?? Why? If the value is there, I will buy 100-200 shares and then maybe do a covered call way out of the money. Any dividend is a bonus. Just my mindset. Sometimes it works...Cognex. Other times I end up with things like GE or Ford (which I sold today). Again, I am a value investor who will be turning 65 soon. Also I am an insomniac...I get up many times after 10 am Pacific time...Very hard to actively trade. Cabin...
