Many of the world's top investors/traders had Philosophy degrees. They are none other than George Soros, Carl Icahn, Bill Miller ... Philosophy graduates have hard time of finding jobs because Philosophy as a subject has little practical applications unlike STEM subjects. Yet, so many of the great investors/traders have philosophy background. Can the members of this forum shed some light as to how Philosophy can help one get rich in trading/investing?
Philosophy is about thought and thought is the prerequisite for nearly all areas of study. While amateur philosophy is mostly gibberish, the intelligent & dedicated students are extremely competent at examining the foundations of our beliefs, and they do so through logic and conceptual analysis. And it was probably interesting to them at that stage of their lives.
The people you listed probably would have succeeded regardless of what major they studied in college.
